Gosh. I know this feeling. At the very least, if/when your poplar is hewn, can you use her for firewood?

Yes, absolutely. It’s soft wood so not the best firewood, but I will absolutely use it. There’s going to be A LOT of it!!

We are facing similar challenges as, one by one, we’ve had to remove beautiful, huge redwoods as their roots lift the driveway, crack the retaining wall, and invade the main water line to the house. It’s a sad and painful decision each time.

Oh, that's a tough one. Always super hard to remove a mature tree for our own human needs but you can replace it with something beautiful and fast growing like a nice red maple or a river birch. Love the pic of pony and Lulu!! 🥰
